About Us

Sinead Coakley - Cockleshell Crosshaven

Cockleshell Crosshaven was established in late 2023 by Sinead, who lives in Crosshaven village but hails from West Cork. Sinead named her business with a nod to local Crosshaven history. Where the 'La Scala'  arcade now stands in the village was once the 'Cockleshell Hall' . The significance of blending the new with the old was special to Sinead in considering the store name.

Having spent many years working in Marketing and Business, Sinead spotted a niche in the local market for a place for locals to shop for unique items for themselves, their homes and as gifts and Cockleshell Crosshaven was born.

Sinead selects every stock item with care and is specifically drawn to more unique items that aren't otherwise readily available in the immediate locality. She also places an emphasis on quality workmanship in the products she chooses to stock and with sustainability in mind. She stocks a variety of brands both locally produced and from across Europe.

Sinead also has her own range of customised products designed uniquely by, and for her. She also stocks her own range of reusable cups and drinkware under the brand Ecosip.

Crosshaven, as a beautiful Coastal Village, is frequented by many visitors. With this in mind, Cockleshell Crosshaven has a variety of products with specifically our tourists in mind. Cockleshell stocks some beautiful, unique products that will serve as a memory of Crosshaven, to keep with you all year around, even when you cannot visit.

Obviously, considering the store location, there is a strong coastal theme to Cockleshell Crosshaven, both in terms of the colour palette of stock choices and also the range of stock, but as we say in our Instagram Bio, we are 'So much more than a Concept Store by the Coast'. Have a look yourself and see what's so special about us.

Thank you. Cockleshell Crosshaven
